5  Ways WhiteHat Community Supports Your Wellbeing & Mental Health

The WhiteHat Community is a network dedicated to your personal and professional wellbeing. A big part of that is providing opportunities in support of mental and physical health in addition to professional development. We see supporting mental health as a key part of empowering our apprentices to succeed. Take a look at five of the ways we are working to support the overall mental health and wellbeing of our community below. 

1. Self-Space x WhiteHat-- Mental Health Event series

We are excited to announce that we have opened registrations today for our limited series events with Self Space in support of mental health and wellbeing. During this time of global, national and personal change and uncertainty, we are being challenged to navigate complex emotions. It is understandable that many of us are feeling anxious, frightened and overwhelmed as we find ourselves in a situation that is new and unfamiliar: it really is ok to not be feeling ok right now. 

WhiteHat partner and counselling service Self Space has developed workshops in response to this crisis that offer participants an opportunity to keep check on their mental wellbeing. Each workshop offers time and space for participants to connect with yourself and others, to reflect on thoughts and emotions, to share experience, to seek understanding, to make sense of our responses, and to know you are not alone. 2. Find Peer Support with Keyboard Companions

Keyboard Companions is a peer support programme that pairs you with a fellow apprentice from our network of 1000+ professionals and facilitates building a relationship over the course of 4 weeks. While this is an outstanding opportunity to grow your professional network, it is also a great way to make new friends and build networks of support with fellow apprentices. 3. Free Therapy with Spill

WhiteHat is delighted to offer free access to message-based therapy app, Spill. This benefit is available to any current WhiteHat apprentices who are experiencing mental health conditions which affect their apprenticeship. Follow this link to create an account, download the app on iOS or Android, and start your Spill journey. You will be introduced to the app by Spill's welcoming team before being matched with a counsellor who you can chat to about anything you might want support with; from dealing with workplace stress to personal mental health challenges or just some external perspective to make sense of things.
 

4. Networks

At WhiteHat we host a variety of Networks which are Community-led and WhiteHat supported, and connect members based on shared interests or experiences. They can be found on the Hub here. This is a wonderful way to make the larger WhiteHat Community feel a bit smaller and build personal connections with individuals who have something in common. These networks host monthly events with the aim to bring the community together in order to celebrate, empower, and inspire members.  

 

5. Weekly Monday Yoga

At WhiteHat we value the physical and mental wellbeing of our employees and apprentice community. This is why we want to extend our morning yoga opportunity, usually limited to WhiteHat staff, to our wider community of   apprentices. Join us online for a guided yoga practice to kickoff your morning with wellbeing in mind. These virtual   yoga sessions are delivered by WhiteHat coach and certified yoga instructor, Jackie Chan. Register here for our next practice on June 1st.
